Privacy Policy
Vegardi Inc. · Effective 6 September 2026
The plain-words version
We collect what the product needs to work, and nothing for its own sake. Your garden data exists so your mentor can know your garden. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising, and we are not paid to recommend anything.
This policy covers the Vegardi website at vegardi.com and the Vegardi mobile app. Vegardi is operated by Vegardi Inc., a company registered in Miami, Florida (Miami-Dade County), United States. You can reach us at any time at [email protected].
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you choose to give it, your name.
- Garden data: your systems, plants, tasks, notes, readings and harvest logs, and the questions you ask Gardi. This is the substance of the product: the mentor cannot know your garden without it.
- Photos: the plant photos you submit to the Plant Doctor and the Garden Check-Up, on the website and in the app.
- Scan results and diagnoses that the app produces from your photos and questions.
- Location: approximate location, and precise location where you allow it, used for climate, season, weather and garden placement. Approximate location is enough for most features.
- Purchases: your subscription and purchase history, handled through our payments provider.
- Notifications: a device push token and device identifier, used to send the notifications you turn on.
- Diagnostics: crash and error logs, used to find and fix problems.
How your photos and questions are handled
Your plant photos and questions are analysed by an AI engine so the app can answer you. That analysis uses OpenAI and Google Gemini as our processors, and your photos and questions are not used to train those companies' models.
- Improving our own guidance is optional. We may use anonymized data from your scans (the photos and the results) to improve Vegardi's own guidance over time, and you can turn that off at any time in Settings. When it is off, your submissions are used only to answer you.
- On the website you get a deletion code. Every photo you send on the website is issued its own code at the moment you send it, so you can delete that photo whenever you like, without an account and without writing to us.
- Photos of people are refused before they are stored. A check runs first: if a submission looks like it contains a person, it is rejected and the image is not kept. The Plant Doctor is for plants.
- Your photos are private. They are stored privately and are not shown in any public gallery.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not accept payment for recommendations, and our advice is not influenced by any seller.
- We do not show third-party advertising inside the product.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. The app contains no advertising or behavioural-tracking software, and the website runs no advertising or tracking scripts.
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers to run Vegardi. They process data on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase hosts your account and garden data on servers in the European Union.
- RevenueCat handles subscriptions and purchases.
- Sentry receives crash and error diagnostics.
- OpenAI and Google Gemini analyse your photos and questions to produce answers.
Some of these providers, including our AI providers, are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. We do not share your personal data with anyone for their own purposes.
Your rights and deleting your data
You can ask for a copy of your data or for its deletion at any time, from inside the app or by writing to [email protected]. Deletion means deletion, including your garden history. On the website, the deletion code you receive with each Plant Doctor photo deletes that photo directly.
If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to access, correct, port and object to the use of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected].
Children
Vegardi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use vegardi.com: which pages are viewed, for how long, and from which country. Google sets a cookie for this and receives your anonymised IP address. We do not use this data for advertising and we do not sell it. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and we will signal significant changes in the product.
